Those brave Americans tasked with defending the border against the cartels, their drug mules, and the hordes upon hordes of illegal immigrants they traffic across the border are furious with how Brandon is handling the illegal immigration crisis.
That’s because while they sweat and bleed in the arid, dusty land separating America from Mexico, Team Brandon seems to be actively encouraging illegal immigrants to attempt to enter the US. Even worse, once they get here Brandon is shipping those illegals all over the US. Rather than swiftly arresting and deporting them, it’s sending them to live in communities that don’t want them.
The border agents are furious about that and showed as much when DHS head Mayorkas appeared for a speaking event.
Townhall, which obtained an exclusive audio recording of the speech, reported that Mayorkas led off by saying:
“The job has not gotten any easier over the last few months and it was very, very difficult throughout 2021. I know apprehending families and kids is not what you signed up to do. And now we got a composition that is changing even more with Cubans, Venezuelans, Nicaraguans, and the like, it just gets more difficult.
I know the policies of this administration are not particularly popular with U.S. Customs and Border Protection, but that’s the reality and let’s see what we can do within that framework.”
“Not particularly popular” is an understatement. The furious border agents responded immediately, with one asking how DHS can justify saying the Border Patrol’s mission is border security if Border Patrol agents can’t do their jobs and patrol the border because of Biden’s policies.
Those policies have led to a massive number of illegals that have to be processed, distracting agents from the border. Yet worse, those agents that do defend the border are attacked by the media and Brandon for doing so, as was the case when an agent riding a horse was accused of whipping a Haitian illegal despite there being literally no evidence of that actually happening.
Responding to the question, Mayorkas said he appreciated the agent’s “candor” and that he’d ensure they were able to do their jobs. The furious agent responded that he’d heard that response before and then turned his back on Mayorkas, a sign of disrespect.
And that wasn’t the only hostility Mayorkas faced. Again according to Townhall’s report:
“[A] second agent said it has been “demoralizing” to see politicians and others “demonize” Border Patrol when they often save illegal immigrants from injury and death. It is a possible reference to the outrage that was started over false claims that agents on horseback were “whipping” people illegally crossing the border in the Del Rio Sector, which included Mayorkas, Vice President Kamala Harris, and President Joe Biden.”
A third blasted the administration, saying that things were far better under Trump because “everyone was doing their jobs.”
Townhall reports that Mayorkas was “visibly upset” after the meeting.
But he wasn’t the only Biden official attacked for Brandon’s horrid illegal immigration policies. As Breitbart reports, Border Patrol agents also vented their outrage on Border Patrol Chief Ortiz.
After he told one frustrated agent “I get it, you come to work, you’re frustrated. You’re upset because you didn’t get the desired outcome that you want. Doesn’t mean you give up,” the furious, frustrated agent responded by saying, “I’m not.”
Others jumped in too, with one saying “You keep releasing criminal aliens into the country” and another saying “For evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing. That’s exactly what’s happening here. Good men are doing nothing! You’re allowing illegal aliens to be dropped off in communities.”
Border Patrol agents are furious and frustrated with how Team Brandon is handling the border, and it’s only a year into his presidency. We’ll see how much worse things can get before they break down completely.
